How to Blog
Blog entries are basic chronological posts by a specific user, who is shown as the author. They appear in the blog section of your NetBoots site.
How to blog
To create a blog entry, click "Create Post" on your administrative dashboard. You can also hover your mouse over the Publishing button on your navigation bar, scroll down to "Post", and then click the "Create Post" button.
The link will take you to a form to create content.
- Title: Enter the title of the blog post as you would like it to appear as a headline on your site.
- Content: Enter the blog post and edit it so it displays as you would like users to see it on your site. NetBoots uses a WYSIWYG interface that allows you to apply formatting to text in a familiar word-processing style.
- Tags: Tags allow you to specify custom categorizations. For example, you might tag a post about the auto bailout as "bailout" as well as with the names of people and companies involved. Tags are displayed below your blog post and users can browse your blog based on tags. To enter tags, type them in the text box as words or phrases separated by commas. Phrases or words with punctuation should be surrounded by double quotation marks (e.g. “Washington, D.C.”). The Tags box has an auto-completion feature. As you type, tags that already exist and may match what you are typing pop up below the textbox. Clicking on one of the terms will add it to your list of tags.
Important Tip: Pasting content directly from Microsoft Word is strongly discouraged because of formatting issues that may arise. Instead, copy and paste the content into a plain text editor (such as notepad) to clear the formatting, then copy and paste the result into your post.
